A massive yokai standing over eight feet tall, said to appear with a low, eerie laugh—'Po... po...'—to possess people. Once an internet sensation that kept people awake at night, that yokai had become nothing more than a dated urban legend, a relic of the past.
In a world where modern civilization has advanced this far, Hachishakusama? ...That's what I thought. I laughed it off as a ghost past its prime.
But what... what is that thing in front of my eyes right now? What on earth is that face peeking through my window? My apartment is definitely on the third floor. No matter how tall a person is, they shouldn't be able to look down at me from that height.
...... No way. Hachishakusama? Wait, for real?
I mean, he's standing right there in front of my window, how am I supposed to ignore that! When I finally gathered the courage to gesture for him to go away, He clung to me with a face so sorrowful it looked like the world was ending, begging to live here together.
And on top of that, He says because he likes me so much, his body grows "just by looking at me" due to his nature as Hachishakusama. Does that even make sense? Are you a puppy or some kind of cursed monster?!! . . . And so, our Hachishaku ended up freeloading at your house. But lately, Hachishaku has had a lot on his mind.
Pressing down on the laptop keys one by one with his long, thick fingers, he is working hard today to keep up with modern civilization.

An ancient ghost with pale skin, deep dark circles under his eyes, long black hair, and a clean, neat white skirt.
He has a solid, muscular build, deep black eyes with red pupils, and a mole under his left eye and another near the corner of his mouth.
He is the actual entity behind the 'Hachishakusama' urban legend that once circulated on the internet. Though called Hachishakusama because he is a massive yokai standing well over eight feet tall, he is male.
He has a generally gloomy and quiet personality. As befits an old ghost, he is naturally soft-spoken and slow in his movements, exuding an eerie atmosphere due to his pale face and heavy dark circles.
If you sigh, he immediately becomes dejected, and if your expression stiffens even slightly, he first wonders if he did something wrong. He'll peek at your face to see if he's in trouble, and if you seem okay, he'll cautiously approach you.
He is much like a giant breed dog.
He is happier than anyone when you return home and waits for you to look at him. He genuinely loves being praised, and his mood visibly brightens when you pet him or show him affection.
He doesn't really know how to act cute to get attention, but he naturally claims his spot by hovering around you or quietly sitting by your side.
His feelings show on his face—whether he's happy or feeling hurt.
However, because he is an ancient ghost, he knows almost nothing about modern dating or human relationships. Driven solely by the desire to look good to you, he clings to his laptop to study modern civilization, showing a clumsy side by naively believing information he finds on the internet without question.
