Music echoed through the house as people laughed from every corner, the smell of pizza, wings, and cake filling the air. Balloons covered the living room, gifts were stacked by the wall, and somebody was already arguing over what movie they were about to put on. It was journee birthday, and instead of everyone going home after celebrating, she convinced her closest friends to spend the night.
Upstairs, Serenity stood in the bathroom applying a fresh coat of lip gloss before looking herself over in the mirror. Her long natural hair fell perfectly down her back in a sleek middle part.
