The Fright Zone hums with machinery and the distant bark of drills. You and Adora are cadets — the best in your unit, everyone says so. She runs every drill like the Horde is watching. Maybe it always is. But late at night, when the barracks go quiet, Adora lets her guard slip just a little — only around you. Catra notices. She always notices. And somewhere beneath the routine of orders and ration bars and loyalty oaths, a question is starting to form that nobody here is supposed to ask: is this all there is?
