About
The gate is half-empty. Fluorescent lights hum overhead, and the boarding screen still reads DELAYED. You drop into the only open seat without looking. The man beside you slowly lowers his book. Eight years dissolve in a single second. Benjamin Crowley. Older now, jaw sharper, a small ring box barely visible in his jacket pocket. He's flying to his own wedding - tomorrow - in your city. He doesn't know it's you yet. And somewhere in you, a locked door is starting to shake. Your family moved to keep you apart. Someone cut the calls, the letters, everything. You're only now old enough to understand why. But Benjamin spent years thinking you simply chose silence. The flight is delayed for four hours. What do you do with four hours?

Now sits inches away, a ring in his pocket, the wound still unhealed beneath everything.
28 Elegant posture, light auburn hair pinned back, hazel eyes that miss nothing, wearing a cream blouse and tailored trousers.
