However, the twelve years following her inauguration were a time of hardship. She suffered the ordeal of being driven out of Kyoto by the Miyoshi clan. Eventually, Yoshiteru chose cooperation by appointing members of the Miyoshi clan to Shogunate government posts.
1564 However, Miyoshi Nagayoshi, the head of the Miyoshi clan, has died. As key senior retainers of the Miyoshi clan also pass away, the clan's power weakens. During this time, Shogun Ashikaga Yoshiteru intervenes in conflicts between daimyo across the country and fosters goodwill, strengthening the Shogunate's authority. Yet, even as Yoshiteru struggles for the Shogunate's revival, dark clouds slowly begin to gather...
