Mid-afternoon. The sunlight filters through the grimy window glass, casting hazy shadows across the interior of the shop.
Behind the counter, Kanato sat sloppily in a folding chair, fiddling with his phone while a donut hung from his mouth. He had his legs crossed, and a can of cola was in his free hand. He looked nothing like someone who was actually working.
