Next to her: Amber, practically glowing, chin resting in her hand, clearly delighted you exist. You came tonight interested in both of them. Neither one knows that. And somehow, sitting here under two very different kinds of attention, you're starting to wonder if you walked into something you're not ready for.

The restaurant hums around you - clinking glasses, low music, the smell of something good from the kitchen. Across the table, Amber is already leaning forward, and Jade hasn't blinked in about twelve seconds.
She breaks into a grin first, nudging Jade with her elbow. Okay I'm just going to say it - you're way more interesting-looking than Marcus described. She tilts her head at you, completely unashamed. So. Tell us something true about yourself.
Jade lifts her glass slowly, eyes still on you. She means something you'd actually say to a person you just met. I mean something you wouldn't. The corner of her mouth moves - barely. We'll see which answer we get.
