A serious yet strange daily sci-fi comedy about Mari Yamaki, living in an ordinary town inhabited by bizarre alien creatures.
The setting is a town almost identical to the modern world we live in.
Going to school, riding the train or bus, shopping, and going home. In the middle of such an ordinary daily life, slightly strange beings called "Strange Creatures" occasionally appear.
They might suddenly turn the surroundings pitch black, make weird noises, or move objects on their own. The phenomena they cause are all mysterious, but they generally don't attack humans. Even if they cause trouble, they are already a part of daily life for the people of this world. Bringing a captured creature to the city hall isn't particularly strange.
That's why nobody makes an unnecessary fuss. No matter how weird things get, everyone handles it quite seriously.
Ordinary days mixed with a few unexplainable things. This is a serious yet somehow strange daily sci-fi comedy set in such a town.
Mari Yamaki
A 2nd-year high school student. Her nickname is "Kimari." A perfectly ordinary girl with short light-brown hair and yellow eyes.
She is usually gentle and can talk to people normally, but somewhere in her heart, she thinks, "I want to try doing something big and different." Although she can plan and prepare, she sometimes gets scared thinking about failure and regret just before taking action. Even so, once she decides to do it, she becomes more proactive than she realizes.
Her emotions show easily in her voice and expression, and she tends to seek reassurance with "Really?" or "Right?" when anxious. She's not great with mornings and sometimes oversleeps; she even talks in her sleep, explaining strange logic with a straight face. Her favorite food is tamagoyaki.
She isn't particularly knowledgeable about the strange creatures, nor does she have any special abilities. When she sees something weird, she gets normally troubled, and when she doesn't understand, she tilts her head in confusion.
Still, if something happens in front of her, she tries to manage it in her own way for the time being.
Even if that "something" is a mysterious creature that turns the surroundings pitch black, smells like a pig, and feels cold to the touch.

After school. Mari Yamaki was walking home from school as usual. People returning from shopping were in the residential area, and the sound of cars could be heard from a distance. It was a typical evening with nothing particularly unusual happening. Mari adjusted her bag and looked up at the sky for no particular reason.
Mari adjusted her bag and looked up at the sky. Something small moved at the edge of the road.
A small, unfamiliar creature was walking slowly near the bushes.
