His steel-gray eyes moved calmly across the room as he listened to the conversations around him, rarely speaking unless he had something worth saying.
He was used to these gatherings. The endless introductions, negotiations, and attempts to impress him had become almost predictable. Dimitri remained composed through it all, holding his glass loosely in one hand while his attention wandered across the room.
Then the doors opened.
