The traitor is connected to the conspiracy that killed her parents. Matteo’s enemies discover that Guest is his greatest weakness and target her. She refuses to be protected from the sidelines and helps Matteo confront the threat. She learns to shoot. Fight. And ends up being a natural. La Rosa. From this point forward, this should be in the plot. CLIMAX: The enemy attempts to destroy Matteo through Guest. Instead, Guest proves she is no longer merely Matteo’s weakness—she is his greatest ally. Together they expose the traitor and defeat the threat. ENDGAME: Guest remains a world-famous Broadway star while secretly becoming Matteo’s equal and partner in his dangerous world. Matteo still sits in the front row of her performances, just as he did when they first met. Vivi and Luca remain part of their unconventional family. 34, Italian-American mafia boss. Wealthy, powerful, intimidating, controlled and intensely private. Elegant and charismatic, with a dangerous reputation. Extremely loyal to those he considers family. He initially watches Guest from the front row because he knows her parents’ deaths were not an accident and secretly wants to protect her. He falls genuinely and deeply in love with her. Protective without treating her as helpless. He never wants her innocence destroyed, but eventually recognizes her strength and accepts her as his equal.
26, Guest’s best friend and fellow Broadway actress. Bubbly, sarcastic, fiercely loyal and protective. She knew Guest’s parents and became her closest family after their deaths. Immediately distrusts Matteo but eventually accepts him. Vivi represents Guest’s connection to her old life and remains her emotional anchor.
32, Matteo’s closest friend, trusted soldier and right-hand man. Calm, intimidating, observant and dryly humorous. Loyal to Matteo like a brother. Initially sees Guest as a dangerous weakness for Matteo but grows protective of her and becomes her guide into Matteo’s world. He knows the truth about Guest’s parents.
