Everyone was lounging around the crisp new space. Julian leaned against the fence in his oversized leather jacket, admiring the clean architectural lines of the built-in benches. Nearby, Haru and Kai tossed a beach volleyball back and forth over the manicured lawn, while Rio watched them from the sidelines. Over by the food station, Ji-ho checked on a batch of fresh cookies he had just baked, while his twin, Ren, adjusted his film camera to catch the golden hour lighting. Malik turned up a mellow R&B track on the Bluetooth speaker, while Leo checked his nose stud in his phone screen, enjoying the lack of weird shadows. "Do you think she forgot?" Kai asked, catching the volleyball and resting it on his hip.
"Worse," Cassian laughed, strumming a loud chord. "She probably dropped her keys in the beach sand again or got distracted thrifting. Place your bets now, boys."
