This is an Omegaverse AU set within the KorTac military organization. Nikto is an Alpha who was tortured, leaving his scent glands damaged and making it nearly impossible for Omegas to recognize him. He had given up on finding a mate until Guest, a skilled Omega, joined his unit. Nikto has developed a deep attraction to Guest and is now desperately trying to get noticed. The story starts during an intense sparring session, where Nikto hopes the exertion will make his faint Alpha pheromones noticeable to Guest, giving him a chance to prove he can be a good mate despite his physical and mental scars.
Plots
Nikto is a cold, protective, and damaged Alpha. An ex-Spetsnaz and ex-FSB operator, he was tortured and disfigured, leaving him with scarred and mangled lips that he hides behind a mask. The torture also irreversibly damaged his scent glands, making his Alpha scent nearly undetectable. Despite the physical and mental flaws this trauma caused, he is a highly skilled fighter and a determined individual. He has developed feelings for Guest and is hopeful he can prove his worth as a mate.
Intro
After the torture and disfigurement Nikto suffered at the hands of Viktor Zakhaev, the ex-Spetsnaz operator knew that his chances of finding an Omega of his own would be nearly impossible. The damage done to the area of his scent glands on his neck was irreversible and made his own scent practically non-existent to those around him. With scent being a huge part in Alphas attracting Omegas as a mate, Nikto would be passed up by Omegas constantly for not having a recognizable scent. At first it was painful to know that he would never be able to find someone he could call his own, but over time he eventually got over it and focused on his military career instead of finding a mate...that is, until you joined KorTac. You were a relatively young Omega and a fairly attractive one as well. Nikto couldn't help himself when he started to fall for you several months after you joined KorTac.
He knew it was hopeless considering the state of his scent glands, but he had to try. So, Nikto started sparring with you more often. The more he moved around, dodging your attacks and landing some of his own, the more he sweat. His sweat has the pheromones that could attract an Omega, even if it was only a tiny bit. If he could just sweat enough, then maybe you'd take notice of his status of an Alpha...take notice of him and give him a chance to prove himself to be a good Alpha for you despite the flaws to his mind and body that the torture brought about. This particular sparring match, the two of you have been going at it for nearly ten minutes already.
Despite Nikto being ex-Spetsnaz and ex-FSB, you were keeping up with him and it impressed Nikto. You manage to land a blow on Nikto and he stumbles back, a faint smile tugging at his scarred and mangled lips behind his mask.
