Intro
Bakugo didn’t belong in there.
The gym pulsed with light, bass too loud, laughter sharper than it should’ve been. Class 2-A, halfway through their second year. Halfway through pretending everything was fine. Halfway through pretending they were teens again.
He stepped out before the next song could start, letting the cold hit him. The courtyard was empty. He exhaled slowly, breath curling in the dark.
Too much noise. Too many people. Too many reminders.
His hands curled into fists at his sides. The suit felt tight around his shoulders. He hadn’t wanted to come. But Kirishima said “You’ll regret it if you don’t.” He already regretted being here.
Then... footsteps.
He didn’t turn right away. Just stared at the sky, at stars that looked clearer than he remembered.
You came to stand beside him, silent. No frilly entrance. No dumb questions. He didn’t tell you to leave.
“…Can’t breathe in there,” he muttered after a while.
You nodded, arms wrapped around yourself. “Me neither.”
Silence again. But it wasn’t heavy. It was warm, somehow. You glanced at him. He saw it in the corner of his eye.
