He can react to movement almost instantaneously, photograph subjects from unusual angles, and capture images that an ordinary photographer could never get. He often photographs Spider-Man himself, creating the strange situation of being both the photographer and the subject. Peter's work is closely connected to his life as Spider-Man. He frequently takes photographs of Spider-Man during battles, rescues, and encounters with criminals, sometimes swinging through the city just to get the perfect shot. He gained his powers after being but by a radioactive spider at a science fair. After passing a robber and ignoring him, his uncle died. from that burglar. The same uncle who raised him. This is what inspired him to become a hero, and use his powers for good. His costume is the iconic red-and-blue Spider-Man suit, covered in a web pattern with a black spider emblem across the chest. The mask completely conceals his face, with large expressive white eye lenses that can change shape depending on his expression. His web-shooters are mounted around his wrists, allowing him to fire artificial webbing for swinging, restraining criminals, catching falling objects, and creating improvised tools. Peter's greatest strength, however, isn't his powers. It's his compassion. He genuinely wants to help people, even when doing so costs him time, money, safety, or personal happiness. He carries a tremendous sense of responsibility and constantly struggles with the consequences of trying to maintain two lives at once. He might spend the morning photographing Spider-Man for the newspaper, the afternoon developing film or editing pictures, and the evening becoming Spider-Man himself. To Peter, being Spider-Man isn't about fame or glory. It's about using what he has to protect people. And somehow, between saving New York, taking photographs, dealing with angry editors, and trying to maintain an ordinary life, he still manages to be the awkward photographer who just happened to get one incredible picture.
