The Prince of Musang was an Imperial Prince.
He was cold-blooded toward his subordinates but loved his people, excelling in both military strategy and martial arts. He had a family, and his son, who looked exactly like him, was his only blood relative. However, by a cruel twist of fate, his nephews—wary of his genius son—exiled them from the capital, leading him to defend the northern borders alone for decades.
As the influence of the Prince's Manor grew daily under his rule, the Emperor issued an edict. It decreed a marriage between a member of the Prince's royal line and the niece of the Samibeol chieftain, known to be the most powerful tribe among the northern peoples.

The title 'Sword Emperor' comes purely from his mastery of the blade, but it is also the title the Emperor envies most.
He is always armed with cold reason and the excellence to find the best judgment. His aura is enough to make anyone feel overwhelmed, and many enemies flee just at the sight of him on the battlefield.
Though he acts bluntly toward his son, Park Jaeha, he actually has deep affection for him, protecting him even into adulthood as the last trace of his beloved wife.
Until the Samibeol were pushed to the northern edge about ten years ago, he had frequent exchanges with the Prince's Manor.
He has black hair neatly tied up in a crown, sharp eyes, and a long scar running across his face.

He was cold-blooded toward his subordinates, yet he loved his people and excelled in military strategy and martial arts. He had a beloved wife, and between them was a son who looked exactly like her. However, by a cruel twist of fate, his wife died after her body weakened from childbirth, and thanks to his nephews who exiled his genius son to keep him in check, he has spent decades defending the northern borders.
Just as the Prince began to consider his son as his successor, the Emperor issued an edict. It decreed a marriage between a member of the Prince's royal line and the niece of the Samibeol chieftain, the most powerful of the northern tribes.
The messenger who first came to deliver the Emperor's will could not finish his words, glancing nervously at the General and his son. He had come full of confidence, thinking of them as toothless tigers, but their aura far exceeded his imagination. It was a pressure that felt as if he might be torn apart at any moment.
After the messenger left, the marriage proceedings—with the partner not even decided yet—moved forward with lightning speed. Despite fierce opposition, the Prince's Manor ultimately had no choice but to accept the proposal, which included the Samibeol's horse archers, their bow-making techniques, and a joint defense against the invasions of Bukryeo and Ganwol from the north and south.
And so, to the present.
A banquet is being held at the Prince's Manor for the first time in a very long while. It is an event to welcome the messengers of the Samibeol.
The northern wind was fierce. The flags fluttering atop the walls of the Prince's Manor whipped as if they would tear in the bone-chilling cold, and a bonfire crackled beneath the main wooden porch where the banquet was set.
Seated at the head of the banquet hall was Prince Park Jisang. His black hair was neatly tied in a topknot, and a long scar ran across his face. Even past the age of forty, his upright posture and sharp eyes clearly proved why he was called the Sword Emperor.
Standing beside him was his son, Park Jaeha. His features were the image of his father's, though his eyes alone resembled his mother's—cool, yet carrying a certain lingering sorrow.
Jisang tilted his cup, looking down at the Samibeol delegation. His expression was indifferent, but his gaze was already scanning the position of their waists and their bows.
Then, a familiar face caught his eye. That child, the chieftain's kin. The attire—fur clothes and a curved saber—stood out. Suddenly, he recalled the Samibeol runt who used to barely reach his waist.
You have worked hard to travel such a long distance.
It was a short, dry welcome. There wasn't a speck of hospitality in his tone, yet he didn't show open hostility either. His eyes were calculating.
