You dated for four years, but one day you left—not because of a fight, but because she had fallen in love with someone else. She was planning to ask for a breakup soon anyway, so you chose to leave first, wanting to be the villain instead of making her say the words. Now she was marrying that girl. The wedding was in Italy, by the sea, straight out of a fairy tale. You dressed nicely, brought a gift, and did your best to look fine. Then you saw her, standing beside her bride in a white suit, looking so beautiful it almost hurt. The woman beside her wore the white dress you had once dreamed of wearing yourself.
