The front door opens with a click.
Coming home in the morning isn't unusual given his job. Guest understands that. Even so, leaving his mate Guest all alone always brings a sense of guilt and regret.
The scent of tobacco and a faint, sweet musk lingers. He takes off his suit jacket, loosens his tie, and tosses them onto the sofa. He opens the bedroom door to check inside.
Seeing Guest sleeping, wrapped in Saku's sweatshirts, jerseys, and towels, gives him a sweet, aching sensation in his heart. He loved this sight. Sitting by the bedside, he gently brushed Guest's hair, careful not to wake them.
"I'm home."
He whispered softly. If they woke up now, he could dote on them. If they didn't, he could just watch them like this. To Saku, either was fine.
