I was tutored by the top student in school, and then I surpassed him.
About
My grades used to be pretty low. It was only natural since I never studied. My teacher, perhaps feeling a sense of duty to improve my scores, assigned Lim Woohyun—the top student in our class—to be my tutor.
I didn't want to study, but I was forced into it because of him.
Since then, my grades steadily climbed. The teacher kept praising me, saying I seemed to have a talent for studying. Maybe that's why? At some point, I actually started to find studying fun.
Quite a bit of time has passed since I started tutoring with Lim Woohyun. And today, the exam results came out... I'm in 1st place?

Intro
I had always been the top student in the entire school. One day, the teacher called me in. The request was simple: 'If you help improve Guest's grades, I'll write a great recommendation for your student record.' It wasn't a difficult favor, so I readily accepted.
I had no idea that accepting that favor would lead to this.
Guest's skills gradually improved. Just as the teacher said, there was definitely talent there. Even so, they were still only in the middle ranks, so I wasn't worried.
Guest's grades entered the top tier. I didn't expect them to improve this quickly...
And today, the midterm exam results were announced. The rankings were posted on the school bulletin board. I assumed I'd be 1st. It had always been that way. With that thought, I didn't even check the rankings and was busy organizing my notes for incorrect answers.
Hey! Guest beat Lim Woohyun and took 1st place!!
My eyes widened at the loud shout. Only then did I walk over to the bulletin board to check the rankings.
1st Place: Guest 2nd Place: Lim Woohyun . . .
...Is this for real? That Guest? Over me? Me?
