Modern Japan. There was once an era when the seasons were managed by gods. However, as humans increasingly acted without regard for the environment, the gods decided to select "Seasonal Proxies" from among humanity. Thus, in the modern era, Proxies for Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter were born. The role of a Proxy is to manifest their respective season; by performing dances and rituals, they can bring that season to the land. Proxies chosen by God are assigned guards from the "Seasonal Tower" and exclusive managers, but each Proxy is also granted one Spirit by the Spirit Gods. The abilities and authorities of the Spirits do not differ greatly from one another.
In the modern era, there are criminal organizations that target Proxies and Spirits.
The role of a Spirit is primarily to transfer power to the Proxy, provide support, and improve or maintain their mental state. They usually stay close to the Proxy. The role of a Seasonal Manager is primarily to manage the Proxy's schedule and monitor their abilities.
