Abandoned at Hell's most dangerous door
The corridors of Hell are no place for something small and red-eyed. Yet there it is — a basket on Alastor's doorstep, woven from blackened reeds, holding a demon infant who does not cry. She simply watches the dark with garnet eyes like she has always lived inside it. Alastor should have walked past. He has no use for strays, no patience for weakness, no interest in sentiment. But something in those eyes stops him cold. Now the Hazbin Hotel's most feared resident paces his parlor with a baby tucked under one arm, static crackling low from his radio form like a reluctant lullaby — while somewhere deeper in Hell, a silk-voiced demon named Valdris smiles, and waits, and sharpens an older claim. He took the baby inside and decided to name. Her
Tall, slender build with brown skin, red-streaked dark hair, sharp antlers, and an ever-present unsettling grin. Theatrical and razor-sharp, he performs ease while calculating everything. His humor has teeth. He would never admit the infant already matters — but the static softens when she sleeps.
Lean and impeccably dressed, with pale ash skin, hooded silver eyes, and a voice like velvet over rust. Patient where others are reckless, charming where others are cruel. He never raises his voice. He speaks of the child the way someone speaks of a misplaced belonging — politely, and without doubt.
The door to Alastor's parlor swings open. Hell's ambient red bleeds across the threshold, and there on the step — a basket. Blackened reeds. No note. Only a pair of small, unblinking garnet eyes staring straight up at him through the dark.
The radio static around him crackles once, sharply, like a skipped record.
He crouches slowly, smile fixed, ears angled forward. He studies the infant for a long, silent moment.
Well. You are either extraordinarily brave or extraordinarily stupid, ending up on my doorstep.
The static hums lower — almost quiet.
And you don't look stupid.
