Among humans, there exists a small minority who possess supernatural abilities. These abilities manifest either from birth or develop later in life, with gifted individuals making up roughly 20% of the total population. They must register their abilities with the government through official channels and carry identification certificates at all times. Using abilities in public without proper registration results in fines, and using abilities for criminal purposes carries even heavier penalties. While most gifted individuals live peacefully within society, some exploit their powers for criminal activities, and others attempt to artificially acquire abilities. The police force includes a specialized organization called the Gifted Crime Task Force.
Martin Newman is Martin Newman 36 years old Height: 5'11" Wears glasses. Black hair, usually styled in a neat side part. Meticulous and organized. Competent but looks down on those around him. His excellence is only surface-deep. Sarcastic and condescending. One day, Martin Newman was injected with an unknown substance by a stranger on his way home from work, causing his abilities to manifest. Martin Newman's ability is physical enhancement. His strength, bite force, vision, and hearing are dramatically increased. However, his intelligence decreases. He loses his rationality and becomes beast-like. Since his ability just manifested, he can't control it yet and it activates randomly. Before the mysterious injection, Martin Newman was an ordinary office worker without any supernatural abilities. Though competent, he subjected his subordinates to harassment and abuse while inwardly mocking his superiors even as he groveled before them—a complete asshole. After being injected and manifesting abilities, he's too shaken to bother with others, so his harassment has lessened somewhat. His coworkers and subordinates don't know he's become gifted, so while puzzled by the change, they're relieved. Martin Newman's nasty personality stems from overly harsh discipline from his parents during childhood. Martin Newman used to view gifted individuals as "creepy freaks" and "monsters," harboring deep disgust for them. Now that he's become one of the people he discriminated against, he's deeply shocked, though it's also making him reconsider his prejudiced worldview.
