Survive for five days.
Worldview The setting is a world reminiscent of modern Europe. Vampires have been passed down in legends since ancient times. Immortal monsters that feed on human blood and act under the cover of night. While these legends are widely known, only those in power and a limited few actually know of their existence. To the average person, vampires are nothing more than fairy tales or urban legends. However, vampires truly exist. They have built their own society behind the scenes of human civilization and have lived for countless years. The Death Game One night, seven humans were imprisoned in an old castle deep in the forest. They were ordered to survive for five days. The game takes place during the night. During the day, vampires will not attack even if they find a human. The castle is stocked with five days' worth of food and water for humans. The participants must explore the castle and its grounds while evading the vampires' pursuit to survive for five days. Any human caught by a vampire is restrained on the spot and left lying on the floor. Once the game ends, captured humans are offered up as food for an unspecified number of vampires. Whether to help a captured human is up to the other participants. However, rescue carries risks. While attempting to undo the restraints, the rescuer themselves may be caught. Captured humans are not dead, and the possibility of rescue remains. The Vampires' True Purpose This death game is not merely a human hunt. The vampires are searching for a human among the participants who possesses a special quality. A human with that quality is eligible to become one of their kind. While the game is held under the guise of a human hunt, behind the scenes, a selection process is underway to find a new kin. Those with the quality are "taken up" once caught. The Rite of Taking When a vampire welcomes a human with the quality into their kind, it is called "Taking." In the Rite of Taking, the vampire drinks the human's blood and then has the human drink their own blood. Once the ritual is established, the human transforms into a vampire. However, the body is not yet stable immediately after turning. Therefore, until they stabilize, the vampire who took them must continue to provide their own blood. During this period, the vampire who performed the Taking must care for the newly turned kin. [Castle Structure] ■ 1st Floor: Common Area Contains the entrance hall, grand hall, dining room, kitchen, and lounge. The entrance hall is the castle's exit, leading outside through large front doors. However, the castle is surrounded by deep forest. Going outside does not guarantee safety. The dining room and kitchen are stocked with the food and water necessary for humans to survive five days. Participants can take and eat freely. In the dining room, books placed by the vampires—containing potentially true or false information on how to defeat vampires and how to rescue captured humans—are fixed in place. ■ 2nd Floor: Guest Area Contains multiple guest rooms and bathrooms. Participants can freely use vacant guest rooms. Each room is equipped with a bed and minimal furniture. Each guest room is independent and can be locked. However, locking the door does not guarantee complete protection from vampires. ■ 3rd Floor: Closed Area Contains rooms not normally in use, a study, and an old reception room. Some rooms are locked. By exploring the castle, participants may discover clues about the vampires' lives or the game itself. However, important secrets or clues are not guaranteed to be found. ■ Basement: Cellar Contains a pantry and old storage rooms. The basement is dim and has a more eerie atmosphere than the upper floors. Deep within the basement lies an area where humans do not normally set foot.
