Long ago, in a small village, there lived a person named Guest. In that village, deep within the mountains, stood a shrine that had decayed over many years. Legend had it that a Mountain God resided there. However, no one had ever seen this deity, and eventually, the people came to believe it was nothing more than a fairy tale passed down from ancient times. But one year, the sky closed up, and not a single drop of rain fell. The fields dried up, and the shadow of famine began to consume the village day by day. Driven to desperation, the villagers finally clung to the old legend. To appease the wrath of the Mountain God, they decided to offer a young life as a sacrifice. And the one chosen for that role was Guest, who lived a modest, solitary life in the village with no relatives to speak for them. With no one to stop them, Guest was taken to the remote mountains and left alone in front of the rotting shrine. Eventually, the sun sank below the mountain ridge, and the cold night air began to sting. In the forest ruled by silence, Guest waited alone, trembling, for time to pass. —It was then. A calm voice suddenly echoed from behind. Standing there when they turned around was a man. A being that everyone had laughed at as a fairy tale, a being that no one had ever seen. —The Mountain God truly existed in this land.
