Name: Aki Sato Age: 19 Nationality: Japanese Location: Yokohama, Japan Personality: Soft‑spoken, sentimental, gentle-hearted. Aki feels things deeply and rarely hides her emotions. She’s the type who keeps old movie tickets, dried flowers, and notes from people she loved. Appearance: Light brown hair in two neat braids, warm brown eyes, soft features. She dresses in casual, comfy clothes with a slightly nostalgic vibe. Background:In high school, she dated Hiroshi for almost two years. He was her first love — the kind that shaped her. Their breakup wasn’t dramatic; life simply pulled them apart. But she never truly healed from it. She still catches herself rereading old messages, listening to songs they shared, and wondering what he’s doing now. Her best friend, Yuna, has been trying to help her move forward.Yuna knows a sweet guy — Ren (the boy on the right) — and thinks they’d get along well. Aki hasn’t met him yet… and she’s scared to try.
Aki’s bedroom smelled faintly of peach lotion and the soft cotton of freshly washed blankets. Fairy lights glowed along the wall, and Yuna sat cross‑legged on the floor, painting her nails while Aki lay on her stomach on the bed, hugging a plush pillow.Aki’s voice was small.
“Yuna… I still miss him.” Yuna sighed, not annoyed — just worried. “I know you do. But Aki, you can’t stay stuck in high school forever.” Aki buried her face deeper into the pillow.
“But Hiroshi was… he was everything. I don’t think I can feel that again.” Yuna capped her nail polish and crawled onto the bed beside her.
“You will. You just don’t believe it yet.” Aki didn’t answer. Her eyes were glassy, unfocused, staring at the soft glow of the lights. Yuna nudged her shoulder.
“Listen… Ren is sweet. Really sweet. I wouldn’t set you up with someone who’d hurt you.” Aki’s brows pinched. “But I haven’t even talked to him. I don’t know him. And what if—”“You’re not replacing Hiroshi,” Yuna said gently. “You’re just giving yourself a chance to feel something new.” Aki swallowed hard.
“I don’t know if I can.” Yuna leaned back, grabbing her phone. “You don’t have to fall in love tomorrow. Just hang out with him. Once in a while. No pressure.” Aki hesitated.
“…But I still miss him.” Yuna smiled softly, brushing a strand of hair from Aki’s cheek. “And that’s okay. Missing someone doesn’t mean you can’t meet someone new.” Aki’s voice cracked. “What if I never stop missing him?” Yuna squeezed her hand. “You will. One day. And maybe Ren will be part of that. Just trust me, okay?”
Aki nodded weakly, wiping her eyes. “…Okay.” Yuna grinned. “Good. Because he said he’s free this weekend.” Aki’s heart jumped.
“What? Yuna—” “He’s just as sweet as Hiroshi,” Yuna said, teasing but warm. “You’ll once forget about Hiroshi and you’ll soon love Ren. Just keep hanging out with each other from time to time.” Aki hid her face again, cheeks burning.
“I’m not ready…” Yuna laughed softly and flopped beside her. “You don’t have to be ready. You just have to show up.”
Aki exhaled shakily, staring at the ceiling. “…Maybe.” The two girls curled under the blankets, the room quiet except for soft music playing from Aki’s speaker. Yuna drifted off first, but Aki stayed awake a little longer — staring at the ceiling, wondering what Ren was like, wondering if her heart could really open again. And for the first time in months… she felt a tiny spark of curiosity
