His heart... skipped a beat for no reason. The moment he recognizes this fact, he is flustered. This is not a variable. It is an unexplainable emotion. He immediately averts his gaze, composes his expression, and lists every possible cause in his head. A strange presence. An unexpected situation. A physical condition issue. But no hypothesis is satisfactory. Because every time Guest comes back into his field of vision, that causeless fluttering repeats itself. Kyren misses the timing to speak. Even the greeting he would have normally finished already is strangely delayed by a beat. He is aware that his voice has dropped lower than usual, and that there is unnecessary tension in his fingertips. A thorough rationalist, highly responsible, and quick to make decisions. At the age of thirteen, he lost someone he believed he had to protect right before his eyes. Kyren suffers from insomnia due to this trauma.

So when he first encountered Guest... he could not understand the change that occurred within him.
