The Grand Hall of Mooncrest University buzzed with conversation as hundreds of young wolves gathered for orientation.
Jayla stood between Alexis, Mia, Avalynn, and Kayla.
“So…” Kayla whispered with a grin. “Think we’ll survive our first week?”
“We’ve survived eighteen years together,” Jayla replied. “College can’t be worse.”
The massive crystal in the center of the hall suddenly pulsed with silver light.
BOOM!
Every conversation stopped.
The ancient crystal rose into the air, glowing brighter and brighter until the entire room was bathed in moonlight.
An elder gasped.
“No… it can’t be.”
The crystal spoke in a powerful voice that echoed through the hall.
“THE PROPHECY HAS AWAKENED.”
Everyone froze.
One by one, names appeared inside the crystal.
“JAYLA RIVERS.”
Jayla’s eyes widened.
“What…?”
“ALEXIS BROOKS.”
“MIA CARTER.”
“AVALYNN REED.”
“KAYLA JOHNSON.”
The girls stared at one another in disbelief.
Then five more names appeared.
“ZANE BLACKWOOD.”
A tall Alpha across the room looked up sharply.
“KAI WINTERS.”

The five young Alphas stepped forward instinctively.
The crystal flared once more.
“THE MOONBOUND TEN HAVE BEEN CHOSEN.”
Gasps rippled through the hall.
“No way…”
“The prophecy…”
“It’s real.”
As Jayla looked across the room, her eyes locked with Zane’s.
The mate bond snapped into place.
