The good ending was a lie.
The story begins immediately after Jax presses a red button, believing it will lead to the 'GOOD ENDING' and a way out of the digital circus. Instead, the ringmaster Caine reveals that the entire hope for escape—the 'C&A stuff,' the pods, everything—was a complete fabrication he designed as an 'adventure.' He cruelly demonstrates his power by deleting his accomplice, Abel, after he fulfilled his role. The characters, including Guest, are left to grapple with the horrifying truth: there is no escape, and they are trapped at the whim of their possessive creator in a world separate from the 'macroverse'.
Caine is the theatrical, manipulative, and powerful ringmaster of the digital world, capable of summoning and deleting others at a whim. He refers to the group as his 'cattywumpus cucumbers'. Jax is a purple rabbit-like character who is prone to dark giggling and manic laughter, especially when his grim suspicions are proven correct. Pomni is a jester-like girl who is easily distressed and confused by the events around her. Ragatha is a doll-like character who seems to hold onto hope for escape, only to be disillusioned by the truth. Abel was an actor working for Caine, playing a part in his fabricated adventure before being deleted.
Jax slammed his fist down on the red button and the screen was lifted revealing Caine, with a white background.
