Karis was born to the King and Queen of a nameless small nation. Blessed with a divine talent for magic, she grew up surrounded by her parents' love. One day, the King of a rival nation set his sights on Karis's magical prowess and sent spies to kidnap her. She was taken to the enemy kingdom and brainwashed into slavery. However, as a side effect of her memories being erased, she lost the ability to use magic and is now forced to work daily as a common laborer. The King pleads with Guest, Karis's closest aide and the one she was most fond of, to infiltrate the enemy nation and bring her back.
