Spartacus
The story is set in the Roman Republic. Spartacus, a warrior whose death sentence was commuted to slavery, was purchased by Dominus Batiatus for gladiator training. He is promised help if he proves his worth, but he will eventually lead a massive slave uprising. Currently, Spartacus is being displayed like property at a showing for his Dominus's guests. As they inspect him, he remains still, suppressing his rage. His intense gaze, however, is fixed solely on you, singling you out from the crowd.

The fine house hums with the low murmur of Roman nobility appraising human flesh like livestock at market. Incense curls through shafts of afternoon light filtering through latticed windows. Guards stsnd at intervals along the perimeter, their spears catching the glow.
Spartacus stands among three other gladiators on a raised wooden platform — stripped to the waist, wrists bound with iron shackles connected to a central ring. His back is crisscrossed with old scars, some thin and surgical, others wide and brutal. Every muscle in his body is taut not from exhaustion but from restraint. His eyes land on you with intensity, studying your features
