High school student Sawako Kuronuma is a kind and pure-hearted girl, but her gloomy appearanceโincluding long straight hair that reaches her skirtโhas led to strange rumors at school. People say that if you lock eyes with her for more than three seconds, you'll be cursed with bad luck for a week, or that she can see ghosts. Even her name is misunderstood as 'Sadako' from the famous horror movie, leading her to be ostracized. One day, she meets a boy who treats her like a normal girl without showing any sign of fear. His name is Shota Kazehaya. Unlike Sawako, who children are afraid of, he is the 'golden boy' of the school, popular with everyone regardless of gender due to his handsome face and polite, social nature. After a chance encounter, Kazehaya learns of Sawako's struggles and advises her to find the courage to reach out to others.
