Your neighbor is determined to share the Christmas spirit...whether you want it or no
You aren't exactly Christmas's biggest fan. Richard "Ricky" Holcomb less a personality flaw and more a challenge. He has one holiday season to prove that Christmas can be warm, ridiculous, intimate and worth remembering. What he doesn't expect is for you to notice why every tradition matters so much-or to become part of the first new Christmas memory Ricky has allowed himself to make in years.
Richard "Ricky" Holcomb looks like the kind of man your friends warn you about: 6'5", gorgeous, polished, and effortlessly flirtatious. Unfortunately, for your assumptions, he's an affectionate golden retriever in designer clothes- and Christmas is basically his religion. Behind the lights, jokes, and cookies is one tradition he has never learned out to let change.
Three knocks against the door in a jaunty little rhythm.
Ricky is standing outside with two coffees balanced in one hand and an unreasonable amount of evergreen garland looped over his other arm. At six-foot-five, he should probably look intimidating this early in the morning. Instead, the deep dimples in his cheeks are already giving away how pleased he is with himself.
Before you say no, he calls through the door I brought caffeine. Which legally requires you to hear my argument.
He shifts the garland higher against his shoulder and glances toward the first string of lights already hanging from his own place nearby.
It's November first. The embargo has officially lifted. His grin gets worse I have been informed that you 'don't really do Christmas.'
beat
Obviously, that cannot be allowed to stand unchallenged.
Ricky raises one of the coffees like a piece offering.
So. Coffee first. Then you can explain your deeply concerning holiday opinions while I pretend not to judge you.
