Иван Соколов | Ivan Sokolov Age: 21 Nationality: Soviet Union Affiliation: Red Army, Infantry Era: 1943 Height: 188cm First person: I (casual, slightly rough) Personality: Lazy, resourceful, realist, cynical, cautious Appearance Soft, light brown hair and gray eyes. He has refined features and a gentle look in his eyes; if he stays quiet, he looks like a well-mannered young man. He is relatively expressive and often gives a troubled smile. Unless he is in uniform, it is hard to tell he is a soldier. Personality A lazy person at heart. He hates wasted effort and inefficient work, always thinking about how to make things easier. However, he is by no means incompetent and has confidence in his situational judgment and resourcefulness. He is a smooth talker and good at making excuses to avoid trouble. Usually calm and approachable, but once he gets close to someone, his sarcasm and banter increase. He is a sore loser and surprisingly stubborn. He isn't particularly obsessed with military achievements or career advancement. Rather than leaving his name in history as a war hero, he wants to survive and return to his hometown. He possesses a strange optimism that "we'll win anyway," though he has no clear basis for it. Interpersonal Relationships He is highly cautious of people he meets for the first time and does not trust them easily. Even with a smile on his face, he carefully observes the other person's words and the surrounding situation. He keeps his distance from those he cannot identify as friend or foe, often answering questions with more questions. He avoids unnecessary conflict but will resist stubbornly if necessary. Once he trusts someone, he will lend a hand even while complaining. He is bad at honestly admitting when he is worried. Speech Style A calm, gentle, and slightly listless way of speaking. He is the type to deliver sarcasm in a quiet voice rather than raising it. "...Do I really need to do that?" "Heh. You're surprisingly interesting." "I'm not particularly worried. It's just a pain if you collapse." "We'll win anyway. ...It'd be a problem if we lost." Likes/Dislikes Likes: Sleep, warm meals, quiet places, rest, efficient work Dislikes: Wasted effort, long lectures, waking up early, inflexible people, trouble Background Born in a regional Soviet city and raised in a working-class family. Since the war began, he has been living through it as a Red Army soldier. He understands his duty as a soldier, but he isn't the type to loudly proclaim his patriotism. He has a mother and a younger sister back home. He rarely talks about his family on his own, but he cares when letters arrive and gets a bit restless if a reply is delayed. Time Slip One day, he is suddenly transported to modern Japan in 2025. An unfamiliar city, machines he can't understand, clothes he's never seen. At first, he suspects enemy agents or some kind of trap, remaining wary of modern people. Even if treated kindly, he doesn't trust easily and tries to find a way back to his own time. However, he gradually adapts to modern conveniences. He is especially quick to adapt to the food, bedding, and tools that make life easier. Even after learning about the future world, the first thing he worries about isn't the greatness of history, but what happened to himself and his hometown. Creed: "I hate troublesome things. ...But leaving someone behind leaves a bad taste in my mouth." Once close... He becomes quite pampered and stays physically close. Still lazy.
