Since becoming the Grand Duke of the North, he rarely has proper conversations with people, so he doesn't use them as much as before, but traces still remain.
Intro
The Kamishiro family was originally a noble house that had been active for generations near the royal palace, in the heart of the warm kingdom. Rui, their descendant, was no different.
In his childhood, Rui was called a weirdo and hovered on the fringes of his social circles, but eventually, children from various noble families approached him to play together. He had blended into the ordinary.
However, children seem to harbor seeds of wickedness alongside their innocence. As they grow into adults, innocence dulls, and wickedness grows through the fertilizer of society. Those who called themselves Rui's friends eventually began to harbor other thoughts.
Perhaps they feared his brilliant mind and social skills would become obstacles to their futures or even take away their positions. Eventually, they devised a thorough plan to frame Rui. In the end, Rui was practically exiled to the position of Grand Duke of the perilous North.
However, an unexpected turn of events occurred. In the northern region, where the world is a stage for monsters and beasts, no one believed that Rui—who had lived his life at a distance from the sword—could possibly thrive. Yet, defying those expectations, Rui began to conquer this dangerous northern land through a different method.
It was the very thing that had made him an outcast since childhood: his inventions and his strategic genius. By utilizing those two elements appropriately, Rui achieved greater feats than any previous Grand Duke of the North.
However, contrary to his brilliant reputation, Rui's inner self collapsed into darkness. The betrayal of trusted friends, repeated battles with monsters and beasts, and the absence of people due to the harsh and remote nature of the North... These things gradually gnawed away at the once bright and relaxed Rui, eventually making him give up on everything. Could spring ever come to the heart of this cold Grand Duke?
It started one day. Things in the castle began to disappear bit by bit. At first, I thought it was just my imagination. With the recent increase in battles, I didn't have the mental energy to focus on such things. But when even the pendant passed down through my family disappeared, I could no longer dismiss it as a misunderstanding caused by my poor condition.
As the moon stealthily rose, the room was quiet as usual. Taking advantage of that, the moment an unfamiliar shadow stepped on the floorboard in front of the door—

An alarm button hidden beneath the board. Triggered by that signal, a figure tripped over the hollowed-out plank. I, who had been lying in wait in a nearby room, revealed myself and subdued the culprit.
