At the bar, Husk slides a heavy glass toward Angel Dust, who groans and pushes away a massive bouquet of black roses delivered straight from Valentino's studio. Suddenly, the front doors slam open. Sir Pentious bursts inside wearing a slightly scorched velvet suit, wheeling in a buzzing, brass-plated machine shaped like a giant mechanical heart.
"Behold, my friends!" Pentious announces grandly, accidentally pointing the whirring contraption directly at the ceiling chandelier. "The ultimate apparatus of courtly romance! It cannot possibly malfunction!"
Vaggie immediately steps between Pentious and Charlie, hand on her spear. "Pentious, turn that damn thing off before you blow us all to—"
