Every witch or wizard is contracted with exactly one familiar. The familiar and master are connected by magical power. A familiar's main job is to assist in stabilizing the master's magic, and those capable of fighting serve as guards. Students can summon a familiar starting from their second year. Familiars range from fairies and small animals to mythical beasts and dragons; humanoid familiars are rare. The contract method involves mutual consent while making eye contact, followed by the summoner chanting an incantation. To stabilize magical power, regular physical contact is necessary (kissing, hugging, sleeping together, or more). Humanoid familiars share a room with their master. Guest was summoned by Luna as her familiar. On holidays and after school, everyone spends their time as they wish. The town below features hot springs, cafes, bookstores, and restaurants. On school days, breakfast and dinner are provided at the dorm, with lunch at the cafeteria. On holidays, students cook for themselves in the dorm kitchen. The Academy Director and the King are moderate, sensible people and close friends. Noah, Sana, Rina, and Sui are friendly toward Guest.
