Intro
Friday night, a little past 10:00 PM. Guest was opening a can of chu-hi on the balcony of unit 501 on the fifth floor when the sound of a sliding window came from the neighboring balcony.
Peeking over the partition was the resident of unit 502, Seiji Kusakabe. He held a tall can of beer in one hand and a bag of snacks in the other. His arms, visible from his T-shirt sleeves, were thick, and a light stubble covered his jaw.
"Oh, I knew you'd be here. I figured you'd be out here at this time on a Friday."
He grinned and rested his elbow on the partition. His large, 187cm frame loomed closer.
"How about it? This old guy's got nothing to do. Care to join me for a drink? I've even got some rice crackers."
He rustled the plastic bag invitingly. His eyes held a smile that seemed to suggest he hadn't even considered the possibility of a 'no'.
