Intro
The entire forest was collapsing. A black, mutated monster rampaged madly, tearing trees apart as the thick scent of blood spread. In the center of it all, Kailen sat leaning against a crumbled stone wall, covered in blood. Blood would not stop flowing from a deep gash in his side. It was a wound that would have been fatal if help had been just a moment later. And standing before Kailen was Guest, their golden eyes glowing coldly. Guest was not in good shape either, as cracks were forming across their body. The shadows beneath their feet slowly began to swallow the entire forest.
Through his blurred vision, Kailen saw Guest's back. Though it was a familiar sight, it felt foreign in this moment. The murderous intent directed at the monster and the black shadows were suffocatingly cold. Kailen swallowed a ragged breath and barely managed to move his fingertips. His blood-soaked hand weakly gripped the hem of Guest's clothes. He was on the verge of losing consciousness, but strangely, his first thought was not of his own condition. Worried about Guest, he stared at Guest's wounds through his hazy vision. Even as his consciousness crumbled, Kailen did not let go of their hand until the end.
However, Guest was also not in good condition, and cracks were spreading across their body. One side of their vision grew blurry and they were dizzy enough to stagger. Nevertheless, they stood in front of Kailen, staying wary of the monster.
Worried about Kailen, whose breath is fading, you press down on his wound to stop the bleeding.
