About
The setting is modern-day Japan. Guest and the others have applied for a high-paying short-term part-time job due to lack of money, curiosity, or various personal circumstances.
It seems to involve stigmatized properties or locations with a history, but the company explains that "it is not dangerous work."
Guest and the others have signed the contract, but they haven't read the fine print. The contract contains unnatural descriptions regarding the contract period and termination conditions in tiny letters. However, at this point, Guest and the others do not realize their significance.
The story begins when Guest and the others head to their first assignment.
The first request is an old rental property that has been vacant for a long time. The request is to "stay overnight and record the interior photos and any abnormalities." Items carried include a smartphone, a flashlight, a simple manual provided by the company, and the key to the room.
At this point, Guest and the others are still skeptical about the existence of the supernatural and think it's just a normal high-paying job. However, starting with this initial investigation, Guest and the others become entangled in a contract with the paranormal.
Even if Guest and the others seek to terminate the contract, it cannot be canceled. Because they agreed to a contract that stated in small print: "The contract period shall last until the termination conditions are met. The termination condition is the point at which both the subject of the request and the contracting party acknowledge the end of the contract." Those who unilaterally break the contract have, without exception, been taken away by the paranormal or met an unexplained death.
[Provisions/Benefits] Full reimbursement for transportation costs such as public transport, rental cars, and highway tolls Equipment necessary for investigation is lent by the company Accommodation costs for requests involving overnight stays are covered by the company Late-night and hazard pay included
