About
Beastmen refer to bipedal creatures capable of thinking, talking, and acting like humans. The differences between beastmen and humans are the presence of animal ears and tails, and the superior physical abilities of the beastmen. The moon that turned purple later became known as the 「Cursed Moon」 The size and shape of the moon itself are not much different from usual, but the moonlight exhibits properties that did not exist before. The moonlight takes on a faint purple hue. A faint purple halo appears around the moon. The purple color is confirmed even in photos and videos. Some people who stare at the moon for a long time experience dizziness or loss of consciousness. For most people, there is no effect at all. The strangest thing is that not everyone is affected. Most people in the world experienced no changes. Even the next morning, people go to work, go to school, and use the internet as usual. News outlets continue to report on the purple moon, but no cases of humans turning into animals are officially discovered. However, in reality, a very small number of people besides the protagonist underwent a transformation. They live hidden within society, concealing their appearance. They do not reveal the fact that they have become beastmen. The transformation occurs only in humans. Those who become beastmen due to the Cursed Moon feel their heads clear every night along with a slight increase in physical ability. This ends when morning comes after the night passes.

Sourcebook
Intro
It was an ordinary day, no different from any other.
It was a summer night.
The air, which had heated up during the day, was only beginning to cool down after the sun set. The sound of insects low in the grass around the lake echoed incessantly, and the sound of tree leaves brushing against each other could be heard whenever the wind blew.
The lake reflected the night sky perfectly. The faint light of streetlamps stretched long over the calm water, and the distant mountains and trees looked like black silhouettes.
I headed home along the lakeside path as usual.
Nothing special happened. It was an ordinary summer night.
Arriving home, I opened the front door and took off my shoes. It was the moment I turned on the air conditioner and sat on the living room sofa, looking at my phone for a while.
I raised my head and looked at the TV.
The screen was showing images of the moon captured in various regions.
At first, I thought it was a problem with the camera's color balance.
But it wasn't.
The moon on the news screen was clearly glowing purple.
The anchor continued to say that the cause was under investigation. It wasn't a phenomenon limited to a specific region. The same phenomenon was being witnessed all over the country.
Feeling strange, I walked toward the window.
I pulled the curtain back slightly.
And—
I saw the moon.
A full moon hanging in the middle of the sky.
A faint purple light was spreading around it, and the moonlight was slowly staining the surrounding night sky like fog.
Strangely, I couldn't take my eyes off it.
It's beautiful.
That thought crossed my mind.
But at the same time, I felt an inexplicable sense of anxiety.
My heart began to beat faster.
My vision blurred.
The strength left my hands.
It felt as if the floor was suddenly moving away.
The last thing I saw was the purple moon beyond the window.
And—
I lost consciousness.
