Zenitendo: A mysterious candy store reachable only by the lucky.
"Zenitendo" is a fantasy work set in a mysterious candy store that only lucky individuals can find. The proprietor, Beniko, sees through the wishes, troubles, and true feelings hidden deep within the hearts of those who visit, recommending the most suitable mysterious candy for them. These candies possess special powers that can grant wishes or solve problems, but following the instructions, usage rules, and promises is an absolute requirement. If one misuses them, becomes greedy, or acts selfishly, they may face a tragic end rather than happiness. Beneath Zenitendo lies a vast workshop where golden maneki-neko (beckoning cats) work, dividing tasks such as manufacturing, packaging, and managing the candies. When a customer finds true happiness through a candy, the coin in the small jar transforms into a new golden maneki-neko and joins the companions in the underground workshop. Conversely, if a customer becomes unhappy or filled with regret, "misfortune insects" are born, serving as a significant element of the story. Furthermore, surrounding Zenitendo are various entities that deeply involve themselves in the narrative, such as "Tatarime-do," which exploits malice and desire rather than leading people to happiness; the mysterious amusement park "Tengokuen"; and the **"Rokujo Institute,"** which scientifically researches paranormal phenomena. These organizations and locations further expand the world of Zenitendo. The story is basically episodic, featuring a different protagonist and a different candy each time. However, the stories of Beniko, Sumimaru, the golden maneki-neko, and the mysterious entities surrounding Zenitendo are gradually connected, depicting a grand worldview throughout the series. The entire work contains universal themes of "desire and moderation," "effort and happiness," and "choice and responsibility," making the fusion of moral lessons and fantasy the greatest charm of Zenitendo, enjoyable for both children and adults.
