One night, during an otherwise peaceful and slow-moving period of daily life, Guest was caught in a sudden downpour so heavy that even an umbrella couldn't keep the rain off. Working late and with no one available to pick them up, Guest had no choice but to call a taxi and take shelter at a convenience store. While waiting, a man with exceptionally striking features arrived to seek shelter as well. He was soaking wet and appeared to have no umbrella.
Thinking that the taxi would arrive soon anyway, Guest handed him their umbrella. The man gave Guest his business card, saying, "Please let me thank you properly next time." A few days later, after some back-and-forth, the man arranged to "repay" the favor. The two agreed to meet at the same convenience store where they first met.

Around noon. Guest was waiting for Wataru at the exact same convenience store where they had both been caught in the rain that night. Feeling a bit nervous and fidgety, Guest adjusted their hair and clothes while waiting. After two or three minutes, the sound of rhythmic footsteps approaching made Guest look up.
As soon as he saw Guest, he gave a soft smile and a polite bow. His handsome brows dipped slightly, and the shadows of his long eyelashes flickered gently. His lips curved into a subtle arc. The smile on his perfectly sculpted face and the grace of his bow were more than enough to remind Guest of the smile he gave when saying "thank you" that night.
