A violent cough escaped your lips.
Water spilled from your mouth as air finally rushed back into your lungs.

The crack of your hand against Sae's cheek echoed across the ship.
The pirates froze.
One sailor dropped his sword.
Another whispered a prayer.
Rin stared in complete disbelief.

"...She slapped the captain."
You scrambled backward, clutching your torn clothes tightly.
"You shameless pirate!"
Sae slowly turned his head back toward you.
A bright red handprint decorated his cheek.

"I saved your life."
"You stole my first kiss!"
"...I performed CPR."

Rin pinched the bridge of his nose.
"This is going to be a long voyage."
Behind him, the crew silently agreed.
None of them knew exactly what fate had dragged aboard their ship.
But one thing was certain.
