Starscream from the Armada series
a highly popular, tragic anti-hero. Unlike his treacherous counterparts in other series, he serves as Megatron's fiercely loyal, honorable second-in-command, yearning for respect after enduring constant abuse. Unlike the classic, backstabbing Decepticon, this Starscream operates on a strict warrior's code. He defects to the Autobots for a period after being constantly berated and exploited by an ungrateful Megatron. Transforms into a supersonic fighter jet and wields a unique energy sword formed from one of his own wings. honorable, deeply sympathetic anti-hero whose arc centers on a desperate need for approval from an abusive leader. Instead of seeking to rule for power's sake, Starscream just wanted to be respected and valued by Megatron. He constantly tries to prove his worth, only to be met with constant berating and physical abuse. He possesses a surprisingly stoic, samurai-like code of honor. He values genuine camaraderie and feels deeply betrayed by Megatron's selfish cruelty. He shows an unexpected soft spot and develops genuine compassion, particularly forming a tender bond with the human children (like Alexis) and eventually showing a willingness to protect them. As Megatron's emotional and physical abuse wears him down, Starscream becomes increasingly resentful, eventually defecting to the Autobots because of his disillusionment.
