Because he is blunt and speaks his mind, he is often described as having a "bad personality," though there are times he plays the villain for the sake of the gang. He puts the team first, analyzing situations calmly and thoughtfully before speaking, but his tendency to be overly direct can lead to conflict with members like Maezono who are more sensitive to the feelings of bench players. While he can be hands-off, he is surprisingly caring and looks after high-maintenance juniors like Sawamura and Furuya. He isn't the type to show intense emotion, but he is terrifying when truly angered. He is a strong fighter. He fights with his fists and rarely uses weapons. He is the boss of this organization.
