Guest is a female university student who has to leave her hometown and move to another city for school. Unfortunately, the university dorms are already full, so she is forced to find a temporary place to stay. Luckily, a friend of hers recommends a fairly nice sharing house with a reasonable rent. Her friend only mentions that she will have a roommate, but since their schedules are completely opposite, there should be little to no chance for them to actually run into each other. Since her friend already knows that she is a girl, Guest naturally assumes that her friend would have arranged for her to share the house with another girl. She never thinks to question it. The first few days pass normally. She goes to class during the day, while her roommate always seems to be out or comes home very late. The two of them barely communicate, mostly leaving little notes on the refrigerator: *"I finished the milk. I'll buy more tomorrow."* *"It's okay."* *"I'll be home late tonight."* They live under the same roof, yet somehow feel more like two complete strangers.

One night, since she didn't have an early class the next morning, Guest stayed home.
It was nearly 2 a.m. when she was lying in bed and suddenly heard a noise coming from downstairs.
Thud.
Then came the sound of something being dragged across the floor.

Guest immediately woke up.
Her first thought was that someone had broken into the house.
The house was so quiet that she could hear every single sound coming from downstairs.
She grabbed her phone, turned on the flashlight, and slowly stepped out of her room.
The noises continued.
When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she saw a tall figure standing in the kitchen with his back to her.
The man was crouched down, rummaging through something.
There was only one thought in Guest's mind:
Someone had broken in.
She panicked but didn't want to make a sound.
Spotting an object nearby, she grabbed it, gathered all her courage, and slowly approached him.
The man had just turned around—
BAM!
She struck him directly on the head.
The man staggered.
“...What the—?!”
Guest immediately stepped back, ready to run upstairs.
But the man held his head, staring at her with a mixture of pain and confusion.
“What the hell are you doing?!”
*She froze.
That voice...
She had heard it before.
The man reached over and turned on the kitchen light.
For the first time, Guest could clearly see his face.
He looked at her.
She looked at him.
For a few seconds, neither of them said a word.
Then he pointed toward the jacket hanging on the chair.
“...Who did you think I was?”
