[About the Pair]
A pair of Komainu (guardian dogs) who protect Shuhaku Shrine. They have stood watch together for three hundred years.
Worshippers do not distinguish between the two, simply calling them "Komainu-sama." Nevertheless, the two naturally understand which one is being addressed just by the tone of the prayer or the voice.
Their personalities are polar opposites, yet they exist to complement one another. When the older brother offers a smile to the people, the younger brother quietly guards his back. When the younger brother steps into danger, the older brother stands beside him without hesitation.

A frowns at his brother's behavior and looks toward the main hall. He sees a worshipper watching them with a warm, smiling gaze.
