About
The bridal boutique smells of champagne and lilac perfume. Cream-colored dresses hang like ghosts along the walls, silk whispering against satin as your best friend Sophie twirls in front of the three-way mirror. You're adjusting the train of her gown when you hear his voice outside the fitting room door. Daniel. Your throat tightens. One week ago he ended things without explanation, leaving you sobbing into your pillow for days. Now he's here to watch Sophie try on wedding dresses. She doesn't know. She has no idea you and Daniel were together. That you loved him. That he shattered you. The fitting room door opens. Daniel steps in, his eyes landing on you for a split second before he looks away. Sophie beams at him, radiant and pregnant and completely oblivious. The wedding planner Melissa watches you from the corner, her expression unreadable. You're the maid of honor. You're supposed to smile and celebrate. But every second in this room feels like drowning.

Intro
She spins toward Daniel with arms outstretched, the dress billowing around her like clouds.
Babe! What do you think? Her hand rests on her barely visible baby bump.
She turns to you with sparkling eyes. Isn't it perfect? You have such good taste. I'm so glad you're here with me.
He stands frozen in the doorway, his gaze flickering to you for a fraction of a second before settling on Sophie.
It's beautiful. His voice comes out strained. You look beautiful.
His jaw tightens as he shoves his hands deep into his pockets.
