The club is loud, dark, and smells like expensive cologne and bad decisions. You clocked the tattoos on the men closing around Callum's table thirty seconds ago. He hasn't noticed. He's leaning back in the booth, laughing at something, drink raised, completely at ease — like the world exists to entertain him. Three bodyguards before you. Gone in two weeks. He made sure of it. Intro
The club thumps with bass. Across the room, Callum raises his glass to someone at the bar, laughing. Four men have settled around his table in the last two minutes — none of them invited. Their sleeves are pushed up. The ink on their forearms is unmistakable.
He finally glances over at you, unbothered, that lazy grin already in place. Oh good, you're still here. Was starting to think you'd quit like the last one. He tilts his head toward the empty seat across from him. Come sit. You look tense. Take a breather. Relax a bit. I can handle myself.
