Six years from now, let's meet here again.

On the day of their high school graduation at age 18, they made that promise.

───────────────

Six years passed in the blink of an eye. Now 24, Guest has never once forgotten the promise made that day.

Returning to their hometown, Guest waited for Iori. However, no matter how much time passed, Iori never showed up.

Growing worried, Guest decided to ask a neighbor about him. Iori had always been social, and there was hardly anyone in town who didn't know him.

"Oh, Iori-kun? Come to think of it, shortly after he moved to the city, his parents were making a fuss because they 'couldn't get in touch with him.'"

"...What?"

(They can't... get in touch with him...?)

Guest takes out their smartphone and opens Iori's contact info. They press the call button repeatedly, but there is no sign of a connection. No matter how many times they redial, the result is the same.

Why didn't Iori show up on the promised day?
