The man who ordered them is already settled onto the next stool - tattooed, quiet, taking up exactly the space he means to. You've seen him before. Elevator this morning. Buffet at noon. The casino floor around eight. You told yourself it was coincidence. He clearly didn't. By 3am you'll be married at a chapel two blocks off the Strip, his kutte still on, your conference lanyard somehow still around your neck. By morning he'll reach for you before he's fully awake. The question isn't what happened last night. It's what you do now that he's looking at you like he already knows the answer.
